9/11/97 - Weaselangelism. Hey, cool. First preacher on West Campus that I've seen this year. I haven't seen that guy before. He's short and partially bald and he has that preacher voice, the kind that's very forceful and commanding, yet at the same time, wavers very subtly so as to convey emotion. I just walked right by him. Some Asian guy was taking pictures of him. Now THAT was hilarious. Like something you'd see at the zoo. All I heard the man say was how we all were fornicators, "we" being all the college students ignoring him. He said something about how homosexuals were evil, too. My roommate said there was a whole group of people yelling at him, later. When I was there, no one was listening to him. But college kids love to yell and fight and express themselves (but not me...right? ). It's not that they actually feel these folks are a threat. They get off on arguing. As do the preachers, I believe. These preachers cannot seriously think they'll win any followers ranting and raving conservatism and closed-mindedness on a liberal campus like UT full of kids who have been brought up under the wing of science and who care not for sensationalism. It's all an act. Those preachers are just doing what they do best. And that is very, very sad. Hey, I got my tickets today. Stockholm is a sure go. ;) What remains to be planned for is how best to greet Anna's full lips. The A/C works again. I hate Quakeworld. 311's Transistor is questionable. . . . c o m |-. ,-. ,-. |- . . ,-. ,-. ,-. ,-. | | |-' | | | | | | | | |-' | `-' `-' ' ' `' `-' ' ' ' `-' '
