11/19/97 - Abort All Acceptance. There is nothing quite as amusing as seeing a little tiny girl hold a huge 3 foot by 6 foot sign on Guadalupe Street which shows an aborted fetus dismembered and dried. Yes, our favorite pro-lifers are back at it again. This time they figured they'd try to convince us impressionable college students that abortion is always wrong by showing us graphic photos of a doctor holding a baby's severed head in a pair of tongs. Did you know that all students will do is talk about how stupid these anti-abortion people are? And if a college girl got pregnant, it's very unlikely she'd use those signs to make her decision. I've said what I need to say about abortion in a Soapbox. I just think it's stupid to try to convince college students this way. We see it as a freak show of the Christians' Most Ridiculous. Do these people think by keeping other people from having abortions, God will forgive them for having their children tote around disgusting, vile photos of aborted fetuses? Herein lies an example of the hypocrisy of proactive advocacy. People consider it forgiveable to commit one sin in order to expose another one. They lose credibility by doing that, but they just don't see it. I don't know. You make up your mind about it. I'll just sit back and laugh at it all. That and the "FUCK CAPITALISM" graffiti outside the newly opened Barnes and Nobles bookstore on the Drag (like the other businesses don't operate under capitalistic influences). And... Anna, I terribly miss you. We're both extremely busy with school, but I think about you all the time and it chips at my concentration. I need to be with you soon, without stress and worry and concern about what needs to be done for school the next day. I require you. I love you. You are me as I am you. I look forward to talking to you tomorrow, as I always do, and as I always spend all class period dreaming about you and me together. . . . c o m |-. ,-. ,-. |- . . ,-. ,-. ,-. ,-. | | |-' | | | | | | | | |-' | `-' `-' ' ' `' `-' ' ' ' `-' '
